Subject: Actual news from the ranch!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Rachel Schwartzman and I'm the new equestrian director (started about a month ago). I thought with all the stories I've been reading about, you all might want to know what's going on currently at the beloved ranch.
Today is actually the first day of camp for the summer! Our staff were all trained last week and are chomping at the bit to finally have kids here. Camp is now Sunday through Saturday, so that extra night adds a new element and a chance to bring new things to the program. We have a herd of about 45 horses right now and ranch camper capacity is 40 kids. The ranch program is going strong! Please continue to send any stories, old songs, memories, ideas in my direction...I love hearing them and they spark some new ideas for me!

Also, please feel free to visit the barn if ever you're in the area. We have alumni tents set up during check-in every Sunday afternoon from 3-5, for reminiscing and reconnecting. We love alumni support....which brings me to....a little project we're working on. There used to be two brown barns (the regular brown barn and then Leland stalls). Well, unfortunately, and for reasons no one really knows, Leland stalls were torn down, leaving a shabby structure with a roof and two hitching posts underneath (not so useful). Our herd is too large for just one barn and if we want ranch to expand to the brilliance it has been in the past, we need a new barn. Here's the plan-- we have a builder who can put up the barn in 4 days, we just need to raise 25,000. Any help, contact info, suggestions would be most appreciated since I am just getting my feet wet with the fund-raising portion of my job. Our horses need a new home!

And, with that, let me end this massive email. Thanks again for sending tidbits of ranch past and keep them coming! Ranch reunion sounds like it's on the way and I can assure a good time for all who come! I'll close with my favorite horse list from my camper days and now:

Sakima
Nintendo
RTO
Tye
Mimi
Nasha (all time favorite)

Cheers!
